To buy or not to buy?

I was wandering through the stores a few days ago, curious to see what's new in the clothes, shoes and accessories departments. Since I'm getting more and more pregnant every day (heh) stores view marathons are one of the last fitness moments I have left for now (not that I complain, I do really like it).
What caught my attention (again) this time is to see many clothes have so spicy price tags but quality materials no better than the ones I could find for 2 or 3 times less money.
So what's to be done? Should we be buy something just because it has a famous company name on the tag? I say nope.
So with this in mind, I've made up a list of things I always try to consider before buying something, to decide if it's worth it for me:
  1. Touch the material. How does it feel? Do you like to touch it? - Since you're gonna stay in it for several hours a day, if you don't like it when you put your hand on it, imagine how it would feel for that fabric to be in contact with your skin for a few hours.
  2. The design: Do you have anything to wear it with at the present time? Many people buy things because they are nicely presented in the store, they catch the eye, they have famous tag, but soon after the buy it they realize they would need to buy a whole new wardrobe around the new piece. So that piece might just be getting to take your wardrobe space and empty your wallet.
  3. Actually first importance for me: if you would take that dress/jumper/etc from where it is (nice store design, nice light, nice presentation) remove the tag and imagine it in a not famous, maybe neighborhood store: would it still stand out, would you still pay the money to buy it? A piece with good material and good design that flatters your figure will stand out (almost) wherever it is.
  4. The size: If you need something, buy that something in the size you are right now. Buying things with a slimmer figure in mind means you won't be able to wear it for a while now. You might not even like it anymore when you get to the desired clothes size. I still have a pair of very skinny jeans that I don't like anymore from some years ago, when I thought I was gonna loose several kg very soon. So with that in mind, does it flatter your current beautiful self?

What do you think of this list? What else would you add to it?
Until next time I'll leave you with some nice findings I encountered while surfing the internet.
Take care!

An approach on fashion

What I always missed in the fashion materials I found online and on paper is a more practical approach in telling us people how to dress. Meaning, I get to see most magazines/online fashion articles pictures from the catwalks or magazine photo shoots with combination of clothes that I couldn't find a way to wear even in a role-play fantasy. It might be easy, beautiful and addicting for some people to see these combinations that are unwearable outside a fashion presentation or photoshoot and find a way to bring them to day to day life.
As for me, I life things more simple and more practical I might say: I always love and prefer to look for street style pictures because I find it fascinating how some ladies and gentlemen too mix their clothes, accessories and make up (designer or not) to create the most interesting and eye catching fashion moments. For me, it would make it more easy to offer people actual examples that they can relate to, actual combinations that they can go and buy for themselves than pictures that celebrate the body but doesn't teach much about how to cover it with most style.
Don't get me wrong :) I have nothing but admiration for those who create the wonderful things we get to wear on the street - however my favorites are by far those who can imagine beautiful outfits by putting different pieces (both cheap and expensive) to make a stylish mix. What do you think of these ladies below?

Office style inspiration

Although I don't work in an environment where traditional office attire is required, I have an attraction for more elegant outfits. I am a strong believer that a more elegant look brings much more benefits than just dressing correctly but unnoticeable (of course - it depends greatly on where you're working - but for the purpose of this article I will address those who have a thing for more elegant stuff to wear). The way you dress affects the way people react towards you. When people like you, communication is easier and they are (science proved it) less reluctant to perform certain tasks. And when I say like you, I don't mean short skirts or other attention catchers that would be better left for the night out clubbing with the girls, but the attire that make you look like a professional and leave the impression that you know what you're doing and you're serious about your thing. Office attire has no reason to be boring, take a look at the findings below:

Not so Spring yet

We've had some sunny, nice, warm "Spring is coming" days here in Bucharest lately so I was making ready to share with you a post celebrating the coming of the very expected Spring.

I don't know how the wheather's like where you are right now, but when I woke up today morning and looked through the window, I got like wow, what is just happening out there? Winter seems to make one last might move at us. Hopefully the last one this year. And since we're gonna freeze a little more, I've gathered some nice coats to defy the weather outside with style. Until next time!

Boys, boys, boys... :)

I have always admired the clothes that have an elegant simplity with an edge, both in women and men's wardrobes. Mixing colors that go well together while not making it look like it's too much of something is a quality that I love to find in all those around who pull it together.
I admire a  man who knows how to dress appropriate to the occasion, sporty for gym hours, casual chic or elegant attire (depending on occupation) at work and relaxed, simple lines with that edge I was mentioning in his time off.
Below you can find a selection of the styles that I propose as inspiration. Until next time dear ones!
